Cons

Drivers can be more reckless at night, and so there remains some risk of nighttime road work. Visibility remains an issue that lighting must compensate for. With the right preparations, though, these cons are non-issues.

What are the benefits of nighttime road work?

Potentially Increased Traffic Safety

In general, fewer people are traveling the roads by night. Fewer people are occupying parking lots. With less traffic, it can reduce the risks of road work. It is less likely for an accident to occur; traffic accidents involving road work can lead to serious injury or fatality to road workers or drivers. On the other hand, nighttime drivers can be potentially less careful than daytime drivers, which is why the next point is so crucial.

Easier Traffic Control

Traffic control measures mark out where drivers must avoid and notify oncoming traffic to slow down due to the road work.
