Pervious pavement, also known as porousasphalt, has a porous surface that leads to an underground drainage system of rocks and sand that lets rainwater pass through easily, preventing flooding aboveground. Pervious pavement can become clogged very quickly; in fact, its entire lifespan has a shorter expected lifespan than traditional asphalt pavement.
